FLP supplies TruckPave® for new car park in Lancashire
Primrose gardens is a public realm area in Chorley, Lancashire which has recently undergone a major regeneration.
Wade Group based in Lancashire’s Ribble Valley was awarded the contract to install a new parking area and carry out extensive soft landscaping and a planting scheme. They offer a complete package from demolition and site clearance, design and build through to external works and landscaping.
For this project they carried out a clearance of the site and excavations of the existing surface tarmac and stone. They installed a new parking area made up of imported hardcore sub-base to all areas, installed 170m² of TruckPave® 80 and a two-coat tarmac system. Alongside the hard landscaping they also installed an extensive soft landscaping and planting scheme.
FLP supplied the 714 TruckPave® 80 pieces required. Manufactured from recycled plastics, TruckPave® paving is robust, durable and capable of withstanding all levels of traffic up to and including coaches and HGVs.A roll of Tensar TX160 Geogrid for ground stabilisation was also supplied. Geogrids enhance soil shear strength and soil stiffness and do this by performing two distinct geosynthetic functions; reinforcement and stabilisation.
Ellie Brown, Project Management Support from Wade Group said,
“FLP were very accommodating with their service; they provided a quick service providing materials to site with no delays or issues. We had one instance where we had almost completed the laying of the TruckPave® when we noticed that we were one piece short. FLP sent a piece over to us free of charge so we could complete our project on time and to a high standard.”
